Side by Side by Sondheim will be presented as part of the 2008 Adelaide Fringe Festival, in the Burnside Ballroom, corner of Portrush and Greenhill Roads, Burnside. And we now have a very classy looking video trailer up on the web, thanks to Rodney of Fernby Films.

The sophistication, wit, heart and genius of Broadway's most innovative and influential artist is at the centre of this tribute to Stephen Sondheim, the much-loved, contemporary (still alive and kicking) American composer-lyricist.

This dazzling array of some of Sondheim's best-known songs features numbers from landmark shows that revolutionised musical theatre with their masterful craft and astounding creativity.

Side by Side by Sondheim includes songs from A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Company, Follies and more, with favourites such as 'Send in the Clowns', 'Getting Married Today', 'Broadway Baby' and 'Can That Boy Foxtrot'. You will hear not only Sondheim's music, but songs for which he wrote lyrics, from productions including West Side Story.

The show will be presented in Cabaret style, set around two grand pianos as the centrepiece of the stage. So come along and be prepared to enjoy a wonderful evening of musical theatre with all the benefits of a cabaret setting. Fully licensed, BYO or buy from our bar.
