Burnside Players' first production for 2010 will be Oliver Goldsmith's 'She Stoops to Conquer', an 18th century comedy. It will be directed by Damien White.

In order to woo Charles Marlow, the son of a wealthy aristocrat, Miss Kate Hardcastle is forced into a plan which sees her posing as a barmaid.

Add to this a practical joke played on Marlow and his friend Hastings, in which they are lead to believe that Kate's family house is an inn and her wealthy father the innkeeper, and numerous romantic subplots, all interspersed with the usual interference of the older members of the family, and hilarity ensues.

Performances will be in May 2010, opening on the 20th and running to the 29th. This production will be performed in The Arch at Holden Street Theatres.
